Polka Dots and Scrunched Flowers

Pretty simple card.  Last one we'll make at the Open House tonight.  I dyed the flower.  I put a dozen ink drops in a sandwich bag along with a little bit of water (used the spray bottle and did 2 sprays).  Let it dry and scrunch the flowers together leaving the bottom one intact.  I used 5 flowers.  Pin together with a brad and adhere a button on top.  Many crafters have made these flowers so it is hard to know who to give proper credit for these.   Anyway, hope you like it!

Supplies: Dot Dot Dot (page 140, 115332) and Teeny Tiny Wishes ( page 157, 115370)
Ink: Cherry Cobler
Paper: pages from an old book, Cherry Cobler, Whisper White.
Accessories: Button, Thread, 5/8" Organza Ribbon (114319), 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch ( 119854), Versamark, White Embossing Powder and Pop Dots.

Spotlighting Tami White

Tami has a great blog and has so many beautiful cards with SU! products.  I needed an idea for my open house tomorrow.  This card inspired mine.  I made a couple of chages.  Not because they needed to be made; her card is beautiful.  But I wanted to show off the new Marina Mist colour and thought it might be fun to try a sunset.  I used watercolour pencils instead of watercolour crayons.  They both work very well with watercolour paper.  I am adding her blog on my list.  Go check it out!!

Supplies: Stam Set by SU! Tropical Pary ( Summer mini- 120081)
Papers: Marina Mist, Very Vanilla and Watercolour Paper.
Accessories: Watercolour Pencils (101879), Pop Dots, Aqua Painter (103954)

Heather Time and a Thrift Store Find!!

Time for my frequent inspired cards by Heather Pulvirenti.  What mostly inspired me was the embossing on the gray cardstock.  That's all it took!!  Hoping you can see the glitter well but it was hard to catch with my camera.  I used this super sweet embossing powder by American craft that has glitter in it!  It is just wonderful!!  Here's the card that inspired mine!  She did such a fabulous job with hers!!

Supplies: Stamp set by SU! Chic Boutique (113744),
Papers: Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: American Craft Embossing Powder, 5/8 Organza Ribbon (114319), Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882).

I also wanted to share an awesome find at the thrift store on Friday.  I found this gorgeous embossed Norman Rockwell print with the frame (solid oak) for an amazing $1.50!!!  It is hard to show the embossing of the image with the camera but it is beautiful!!

Spotlighting Susan Raihala & WT278

I have enjoyed visiting Susan's blog for a long time now and finally getting a chance to spotlight her.  She is the queen of clean & simple cards.  There are many queens in that kingdom  :)  Here's the card that inspired mine.  In participating in the WT278 challenge at SCS, we were asked to use the colour yellow.  Not a colour I often use but thought this might work well for this card.  I even got my old deco scissors out for this!!  Adding Susan's blog on my list; go check it out!

Supplies: Stamp sentiment by SU! Pun Fun (115054)
Papers: So Saffron, Boardwalk by We R  Memory Makers, scrap of light gray cardstock (unknown origin).
Ink: Black
Accessories: Whale Punch by Martha Stewart, Provo Craft Scissors and Pop Dots.

Jen Time!

It has been a cold and rainy day today.  You read right, I said cold.  Yes, in the dead of July, we had barely 50 F.  I checked Yellowknife's weather and it was warmer there  :)  I was able to take this shot later tonight as the rain stopped for a short while.

Anyhoo, saw this card that Jen made and went to work.  I had a bit of ink on my fingers and got the little circle dirty, so I went ahead and sponged all around to hide my mess.  Hope you like it!

Supplies:  Stamp set by SU! Because I care (hostess set, level 1)
Papers: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Pop Dots, Piercing Tool (116631) & Mat (105826), Linen Thread( 104199), 1 3/8" Large Circle Punch ( 119860), Stamping  Sponge (101610) and Button (from my stash).

I love this new hostess set from the new catalog. I wish my hydrangeas looked better. They are not easy flowers to grow when all around me is clay. Colorado clay. Other flowers grow well though. I'll share a few from my backyard.

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy day!!
